Silje Kjørholt (b. 1990) is based in Oslo and Akershus. She received her master's degree in medium and material-based art from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. She previously worked within the civil society sector, which still characterizes her artistic practice.
Silje works with clay in performance and sculptural expressions. The core of her practice is the connection between body and ground. She sometimes uses clay as a proxy for her own body, tracing experiences where physical and emotional gravity merge. For her, the duality of clay, as a safe and fatal force in the landscape, mirrors the intimate bonds between people.
